PHP is general purpose programming language that is used for web development. PHP is world wide used by websites & web servers. Firstly PHP stood for personal home page and now it is known as hypertext processor. In PHP we don’t have to call an external file to process data, we can use PHP commands directly into an HTML source document. In PHP interpreter only PHP code are executed within its delimiters. Nothing outside its delimiters is processed by PHP. Delimiter is used to close PHP sections. Hundreds of base functions and thousands more via extensions are available in PHP. PHP acts primarily as a filter. It takes input from a file or stream containing text and/or PHP instructions and gives output another stream of data; Output given by PHP will be HTML, but it could be JSON, XML or image data.
